It's Been A Long Time

It's been a while since my last post. Since The Atonement came out in February, I've been very busy. Alot has been going on. I do intend to get back on track with blogging regularly, for those who are still paying attention. This is just to let you know that I'm still here. In my next blog, I'll fill you in on some of what's been going on the past few months, as well as pick up where I left off on some of the other topics. Thank you all for your support and encouragement.

grace and peace,
shai

Looking forward to more updates. More Random Thoughts has been running through my head all evening. You've been given the privileged responsibility of influencing how and what people think in a pretty profound way. Keep it Biblical and Christ-centered, Shai, because it sticks!

WOW! I am just now getting the Solus Christus Project CD, and I and floored. Thank you for allowing God to use you! You're extremely talented, obviously, and you bless me with your lyrics-- the beats aren't lacking either! Before I knew Cross Movement and 116 Clique, I had given up on so-called "Christian" rappers. I now know Lampmode is hot. Thanks again.

Hey shai, it's Joe Romeo. Just wanted to say what's up and let you know that I'm one of those who pays attention to your blog. I'm looking forward to hearing what's new and what's on your heart. Oh, just to let you know, I'll be attending seminary at Reformed in Orlando, Florida. Sorry man, no Philly for me. If I come out there though, I'll let you know.

stay encouraged,
Joe

Like the comment above, I just learned about you on WOTM Radio, too. I am a 41-year old white male who missed the HH culture by about 15 years. My last exposure to "rap" was RUN DMC, etc. After learning about you yesterday, I downloaded "Atonement" on iTunes. My wife and I listened to 'Atonement Q&a' with true Christian joy last night.

Brother, it was a great lesson that as long as the Cross of Christ is glorified faithfully, the medium through which it is communicated makes very little difference. I look forward to keeping up with this blog regularly.

To God be the Glory, great things He has done.

Hey Shai, Heard of you via Way of the Master,(i'm in the U.K and podcast) and though HipHop isn't usually my preferred genre, I am blown away by the content of the few tracks i heard. I've even ordered 'the atonement' and can't wait to hear it.
God Bless you Shai.

I first heard you on Way of the Master and once they finally identified you I was delighted to search out and buy the Atonement & Solus Christus Project. I have never been a fan of hip/hop, rap whatever and other than your work, Timothy Brindle and other young people who have the same heart for the Lord I still cannot listen to it. But that said, when I listen to your songs the music enhances/fades out in my hearing against the beauty of the lyrics. Young man (yes I can and did call you that!) you have more theology in your work than many "pastors" twice your age present in their Sunday sermons. Your humility and love for the Lord is a blessing and an encouragement. You give me great hope for our young people, if they can get their heads around the truth in your music and their hearts right with God through the message of redemption you so clearly present... The thought leaves me deeply excited and looking forward to seeing the fruit that will come through it.
Praying for you and your ministry!

PS Please know that the "young man" comment was said with great affection. I am delighted that I have the opportunity to call you brother and look forward to seeing you in eternity.

Bruthuh Shai!

I'm glad I found your blog as I was looking for lyrics to your songs. Bro! Your music is mighty and edifying! I am mucho blessed by your ministry. I hope you don't mind me linking to your blog from mine. I hope you stay current in your's, and I'd be glad to have you visit mine. I try to keep mine focused on ways to encourage the health of the church (even though not many folks read it), and I was hoping to be able to have some of your stuff playing when people visit...do you know how to accomplish that?

I've just discovered your music, after coming across your name in Young, Restless, Reformed. Mate, this is great stuff - so edifying. I thank God for you, brother.

Anyway, I'm listening to it on YouTube, hope you don't mind. I definitely plan to buy your album.

Yep, WOTM, me too...

Sorry I'm not as generous as the others - I hate rap music. BUT, oh how I love your music. As xfrmdxrenewal said, the music fades out for me when I hear the lyrics. Wait, no! Actually, I'm left near crying saying "Isn't THIS what rap was made for? Waiting decades for? Deep theological poetry to a beat..." You've put purpose in the genre - thank you! I'll be ordering both your CD's. I'll be praying for you as well - as you get bigger, of course no one need warn you to watch out for the pride... :)

I remember when I saw this blog, I was ecstatic, looking forward to the weighty things being brought forth for meditation and discussion. But since the May 14 post (which was preceeded by a 3 month hiatus, now precedent to a 2 month hiatus), we've heard nothing brother. I hope all is well. But in all honesty, we're still eager in anticipation . . . you coming back?

Dear Shai, I first heard your music on some site as I was searching.
I can't listen to your lyrics w/out my heart being overwhelmed to the point of tears. I know its the gospel that does it to me. These truths are there as a blessing for us to receive but it seems for me when the Word is spoken is when my heart is rent and I wanna rise up and worship our king. I just thank you sincerely for making your self available to proclaim it. Proclaim it at all costs my friend! May Christ bless you and fill your head w/ unimaginable inspiration for the sake of His gospel and good pleasure.
