Off to Florida

After I get off work tonight, my dear brother timothy brindle is going to meet me at my job and we're going to head straight to the Philly airport and board a plane headed to Orlando, FL. We'll be attending the Contending for the Truth conference. The speakers include R.C. Sproul, John MacArthur, Ravi Zacharias, Al Mohler and John Piper. Each of these men have been greatly used by God in my life (and countless others) to help shape my understanding of God, the Scriptures, the gospel and a Christian worldview. I can't wait to be poured into by brothers whom I consider some of my heroes of the faith. It's crazy to consider this, but these are the Spurgeons, Whitfields and Edwards' of our day- men whose impact from preaching, teaching and writings will be felt long after the curtain closes on our generation. It's a privilege to be able to sit under their teaching for the next few days.

I'm also excited because I know that there's going to be a contingent from the Christian Hip-hop community present as well, and I'm looking forward to fellowshipping with them in that setting. In some ways, it will be a cultural adjustment because the demographics, music style and conservative, subdued atmosphere are not necessarily what many of us are used to on a regular basis. However, those things will become non-factors for me in light of the big realities that unite us: love for Jesus Christ, passion for His truth and the joy of lifting up praises to His name in the midst of the assembly of His redeemed saints. May our Lord use this conference to equip and encourage us to stand up for the objective truth of Biblical Christianity in a world (and church) that is increasingly characterized by postmodernism and relativism.

grace and peace,
shai

Ya know... I'm KIND of hatin' lol. I know it's going to be nuts being there and being able to be poured into by such men as those. I pray all of y'all leave the conference with more passion, more desire, more love, more zeal for our Lord Jesus and the truth of God's Word. Yay :o)

Shai, I am a huge R.C. Sproul, John Piper, and John MacArthur fan. Yet somehow I didn't find out about this conference, guess I'm still working on getting videos from the Shepherd's Conference. Though I missed today (Thursday), my friend and I are trying to go tomorrow and Saturday. Thanks,

May God Bless According to His Will,
Andrew Travis Pantazi

That's awesome shai! I actually live in Minnesota, about 1 hour and 30 minutes from John Piper's church in fact! So when I can, I take the chance to get up there and listen to him preach.
Man is he gifted! He can edify...
Good luck shai, I hope you and Brindle have a great time worshipping our Lord!

Welcome to the Blogsphere bruh!

...I'm encouraged that you guys are headed there. I just came from the Shepherd's Conference at MacArthur's church. It was a great blessing - got to talk w/MacArthur - drop him a Reformation CD and let him know how much he has impacted ChristCentric and was the impetus behind Sufficiency of Scripture.

I feel the same way as you bro - those men "are the Spurgeons, Whitfields and Edwards' of our day- men whose impact from preaching, teaching and writings will be felt long after the curtain closes on our generation."

And truly "May our Lord use this conference to equip and encourage us to stand up for the objective truth of Biblical Christianity in a world (and church) that is increasingly characterized by postmodernism and relativism."

Be encouraged, greet brother Tim for me and the rest of the HHH fam out there with you...

Hey there. I discovered Solus Christus while lazily browsing iTunes looking for something Christian to burn my iTunes gift card with. Might have been the best ten dollar purchase of my life. As a Christian heavily into hip-hop and spoken word (I actually head a spoken word ministry at my church), you have blessed me in so many ways. The spiritual and lyrical depth in your music has inspired much of my work, and I eagerly anticipate your next release. I pray that my fervent enthusiasm of your ministry encourages you in anyway, and that you continue to press foward, truly moving from "glory to glory."
stay up shai

I was just speaking to some fam in Christ about the lifestyles of the HHH artists behind the scenes. Sometimes, when amongst them, I just sit back and watch how they interact with others off the stage.

But man, it truly is cool to know that their on stage and off stage lifestyles are consistent. Consistent with the Word.

Its cool that you all went to the conference. It may sound funny, but I really do thank God for you all's salvation and gift for music. No joke or trying to just sound...uh...dont know the word Im looking for. But you feel me? Your music ministry truly plays a part in many lives. And it can only be used effectively as you cultivate it with the Word of God.

Thank you for going to conferences as Contending for The Truth. And honestly, Im a bit jealous. lol. I wanted to go soooo badly, but it sold out pretty quickly.

There is another one in April...WAIT, THATS THIS MONTH!! Philadelphia Conference on Reformed Theology. Maybe I will see you all there too!

Much love to you all,
Mo
